Job summary

Griffin Industries Corp is seeking a 1st Shift CNC Setup Machinist to join a climate-controlled shop in Green Bay, WI. The role focuses on independently setting up and operating CNC equipment, ensuring high quality and efficiency, with no mandatory overtime and a schedule of Monday-Thursday 5:30am-3:30pm.

Key tasks include reading blueprints, selecting and loading tools, communicating with programmers, and designing fixtures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of vertical and/or horizontal machining experience.
  • Familiar with Fanuc controls preferred.
  • Familiar with Siemens controls a plus.
  • Stable work history.
  • Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate vertical and/or horizontal machining equipment.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
  • Communicate with programmers to check and ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly and that output will meet specifications.
  • Design fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
  • Make tool changes, offsets and resolve problems.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges and clean parts using buffers, belt sanders and rotary tools.
  • Calculate and record dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or calipers.
  • Communicate with quality, engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.

  • Set up and operate vertical and /or horizontal machining equipment.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products

Requirements

Preferred skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Vertical and/or Horizontal machining experience.
  • Familiar with Fanuc controls preferred.
  • Familiar with Siemens controls a plus.
  • Stable work history.
  • Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.
  • Forklift operation/certification experience preferred.
  • Able to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
  • Good physical condition (able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time).
  • Good verbal communication skills.
