Summary:Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled and safety-focused CNC Set-Up/Operator to join a precision machining team in Farmington, NY. This full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for individuals with a passion for manufacturing and a strong attention to detail. In this role, you will operate and set up a variety of CNC machines—including lathes, mills, grinders, and boring machines—to fabricate high-quality metal and non-metal components.

Shift:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay:
$20.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate and set up CNC machines to meet production targets and specifications.
Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions to ensure precise part manufacturing.
Select and install correct tools, speeds, and feeds for varying materials and tolerances.
Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
Accurately record part measurements, material usage, and job progress.
Conduct basic maintenance and minor machine repairs using standard hand tools.
Maintain a clean and organized work area; return tools and equipment to designated storage.
Promptly report quality issues, machine malfunctions, and safety concerns.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
Support team performance by assisting with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: 1–2 years of CNC or manual machine operation preferred; technical schooling or training also considered.
Proficiency in reading technical documentation, safety protocols, and measurement tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
Excellent math skills with the ability to measure to tight tolerances (including decimal-level precision).
Dependable work ethic and willingness to learn and adapt to different machines.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Exposure to industrial conditions including dust, fumes, and machine vibration.
Frequent standing, walking, and reaching required throughout the shift.
Manual dexterity needed for precise part handling and machine adjustments.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, and balancing required during machine setup.
