Job summary

Atlas Fibre is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills, lathes, and routers to produce precision parts per specifications. You will verify tooling, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances on the manufacturing floor.

You will perform routine maintenance, monitor machining operations, and document production and quality data. Collaboration with engineers and supervisors is required to resolve issues while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical machining training preferred.
  • 1–3 years CNC operation experience; entry-level considered with training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) and inspection techniques.
  • Basic math skills and problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail.
  • Safety-conscious with ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to resolve production issues.

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or grinders) according to work orders, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Load raw materials and verify tooling setup to ensure proper machine function.

  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.

  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure they meet tolerances.

  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work areas clean and organized.

  • Identify and report malfunctions, deviations, or safety concerns to supervisors.
