The candidate will set up, adjust, and operate CNC mills, perform preventative maintenance, and support a skilled team in a family-owned environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of CNC experience or trade school certification; CNC programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines.

• Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
• Work in an organized manner with attention to details.
• Interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Communicate clearly in English.
• Assist other operators as needed.

Summary

The CNC Set-up Operator is responsible for set ups, adjustments, preventative maintenance and operation of computerized numerically controlled (CNC) mill machines. The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility and bring a hands-on approach to day to day operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate computerized numerically controlled (CNC) machines
• Change cutters when tools are dull
• Inform Manager of machine and production problems
• Attend training activities, as required
• Participate in continual improvement teams, as required
• Participate in safety and OSHA training
• Keep work area clean and tidy at all times
• Work in an organized manner with attention to details
• Ability to understand blueprint reading
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both written and verbal in English
• Help operators with issues

Qualifications, Education and Experience

• Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED)
• Five years of experience working with CNC machines or certification from a trade school
• CNC programming a plus
