Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating CNC milling equipment and performing basic setup and adjustments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work instructions for precision parts.
  • Experience with quality control practices and documenting inspection results using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Prior work as CNC machinist or mill setup technician in a manufacturing or prototyping environment preferred.
  • Understanding of tight-tolerance work and familiarity with aerospace, medical, or similar high-precision industries is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Role Description The CNC Set Up Mill Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tucson, AZ. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily tasks include selecting and installing tooling, performing machine offsets, loading programs, and verifying first-article parts using measuring instruments. The machinist monitors production runs, troubleshoots machining issues, and makes adjustments to maintain tight tolerances. The role also involves performing routine machine maintenance, following safety procedures, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery, including setup, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting of CNC milling equipment.
  • Strong Machining and Milling skills, with the ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work instructions for precision parts.
  • Experience with Quality Control practices, including use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and documentation of inspection results.
  • Previous experience as a CNC machinist or mill setup technician in a manufacturing or prototyping environment.
  • Understanding of tight-tolerance work and familiarity with aerospace, medical, or similar high-precision industries is beneficial.
  • Ability to work safely, stand for extended periods, and handle materials and tooling as required for machine operation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications in machining or CNC operations are preferred.
