You will assist in setup and operation, interpret drawings, perform basic CNC programming tasks, maintain machines, inspect parts with precision instruments, and uphold safety.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or machining environment preferred.
• Ability to learn and follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup of CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials.
• Learn to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications.
• Assist in the operation of CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances.
• Perform basic CNC programming tasks, such as inputting tool offsets.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines.
• Monitor machining processes and adjust as directed to ensure quality.
• Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and process improvements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up I to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup of CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing tooling
• Learn to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to understand machining requirements
• Assist in the operation of CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries
• Perform basic CNC programming tasks, such as inputting tool offsets and adjusting machine settings
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as directed by senior operators or supervisors to ensure quality and efficiency
• Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications
• Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and identifying opportunities for process improvement
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive work environment

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, with the ability to operate hand tools and machinery
• Ability to learn and follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills in CNC machining and programming
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
