Job summary

South Bay Solutions in Fremont, California, is seeking a Second Shift Lead to oversee the second shift in a high-precision CNC machining environment serving semiconductor and medical device manufacturers.

You will supervise CNC machinists and operators, coordinate production to meet daily schedules, ensure quality and safety, and act as on-shift supervisor when needed to maintain operations and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical training in machining or manufacturing is a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or precision machining environment preferred.
• Experience in CNC machining and reading blueprints is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make timely operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee second-shift production activities to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Provide hands-on CNC setup and tooling change support.
• Assign jobs per plan, set priorities, and monitor workflow.
• Maintain shift handoffs and clear communication with other shifts.
• Act as Acting Supervisor when unavailable, handling escalation.
• Foster safety, lean practices, and continuous improvement.
