Job summary

NOV is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our Oklahoma City manufacturing team. You will create and optimize CNC programs for drill-string components, develop machining strategies, and collaborate with engineering to improve methods and cycle times.

The role requires 3–5 years of CNC programming experience, CAD/CAM proficiency, and the ability to interpret complex drawings and GD&T. Independent and team-based work are both essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with oilfield, drill string components preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD/CAM software.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify CNC programs for drill string components.
  • Develop machining strategies, tooling selections, and setup requirements to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Generate and verify tool paths through simulation and prove-out processes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to produce accurate machining programs.
  • Maintain program revisions and documentation for version control and traceability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming, tooling, and machining issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing methods and cycle times.
  • Support new product introductions through process development and program creation.
