Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program edit, and operate lathes and mills. You will work from routings, prints, and instructions to produce parts to tight tolerances.

The role requires 3+ years CNC experience, ability to read drawings, and capability to work with stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, brass, and other materials. You will maintain quality, follow safety policies, and document labor and time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years CNC machine tool programming and operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret work related machine drawings.
• Operate a minimum of 2 CNC machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, write/edit programs, and run lathes and mills.
• Maintain tolerances within .0003 inches.
• Follow routings, prints, and written/verbal instructions.
• Preset tools and re-sharpen as required.
• Inspect finished work with micrometer, bore gauge, calipers.
• Follow safety policies and report equipment issues.
• Make labor and time reports.
• Keep machines/work area clean and orderly.
