Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our Chicago area team. The role combines CNC programming with hands-on machining, reading blueprints, and pushing parts from concept to finished product.

You will program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers, handle 3- to multi-axis work, and troubleshoot tooling and processes to maintain tight tolerances in a fast-paced shop environment. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC programming or machining experience.
• Experience with CNC milling, turning or lathe operations.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC machines.
• Good knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Ability to read blueprints and precision measurements.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers.
• Perform 3-axis, 4-axis, and multi-axis machining as required.
• Develop, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs.
• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
• Inspect finished parts and maintain tight tolerances.
