Job summary

General Plastics Manufacturing Company in Tacoma, WA is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our aerospace-focused shop. You will write Mastercam programs for 3- to 5-axis parts, set up machines, and run multiple Haas and CMS machines with Haas and Fanuc controls.

The ideal candidate has 10 years in the industry, with 5+ years in setup and 5+ years programming, strong GD&T skills, and a solid mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience setting up 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Programming using Mastercam.
• Experienced with Haas and Fanuc controls.
• Excellent print reading skills and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994, or later.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Write programs in Mastercam for complete parts including fixture, jigs, tools, and work-aids for any setups required.
• Operate all machines with minimal direction.
• Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously
• Edit CNC programs at the machine or with CAM programming
• Experience with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines
• Review all engineering, work instructions and affiliated tooling for clarity and quality
• Work well with CNC team members
• Experience with setup and precision hand tools
• Demonstrated ability with completing work orders and meeting stringent customer timelines
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• Must have experience with aerospace components
