Job summary

Chart, Inc. seeks a CNC & CAM Programmer II (2nd Shift) to develop, validate, and optimize machining programs for metal and plastic components. You will simulate toolpaths, ensure manufacturability, and work with design engineers to improve CAD-based programs for production feasibility.

Requirements include 3 years CNC programming, 5+ years on multi-axis mill-turn machinery (5-axis) with ESPRIT preferred, and SolidWorks/PDM experience. Weekend work and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years CNC programming; 5+ years on multi-axis mill-turn and 5-axis multiblade machines using ESPRIT preferred.
• Some experience with SolidWorks/PDM.
• Commitment to safety standards and guidelines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; follow customer specs with quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate CNC programs for metal and plastic components.
• Simulate toolpaths to detect errors before production.
• Ensure CAD programming aligns with manufacturability and efficiency.
• Recommend tooling purchases and catalog accordingly.
• Analyze drawings, BOMs, GD&T, and materials to refine programming.
• Optimize machining strategies for hard and soft materials.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and aerospace tolerances.
• Check prints with design engineering for accuracy; verify solid models to prints.
• Collaborate with design engineers to enhance CAD-based programs for production feasibility.
• Recommend fixture requirements; perform setup, initial runs, troubleshooting, and inspections.
• Continuously improve programming strategies and material handling.
