Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support programming, setup, and machining in our additive manufacturing operation. You will create and optimize programs for prototype and production components, working closely with Engineering to ensure manufacturability and quality.

The role requires 5+ years of CNC experience, proficiency with Mastercam and CAD tools, and strong GD&T understanding.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or vocational/technical training in machining, manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including CNC programming, setup, and operation.
  • Experience with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis milling environments.
  • Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software such as Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, or SOLIDWORKS.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of tooling selection, workholding, machining practices, and process optimization.
  • Experience in machinery of a variety of metals and engineering materials.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for prototype and production components.
  • Perform machine setup and operation of CNC milling equipment.
  • Select tooling, workholding, and machining parameters to achieve required quality and productivity targets.
  • Support fixture design, fabrication, and implementation for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to review part designs, tolerances, materials, and manufacturability considerations.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, fixturing, and quality issues and support corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain setup sheets, work instructions, tooling documentation, and process records.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, optical measurement equipment, 3D scanners, and other metrology tools.
  • Support first-piece inspections and ongoing process verification activities.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
  • Maintain tooling, consumables, and material inventory for machining operations.
  • Support general manufacturing activities including assembly, shipping/receiving, scheduling support, and material flow as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support CNC programming, setup, and machining operations within our additive manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CNC programming, setup, tooling, and machining processes, along with the ability to collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to produce high-quality prototype and production parts.

This is a hands-on role supporting a mix of prototype and production work in a growing manufacturing environment. The CNC Programmer will contribute to machining process development, fixture implementation, quality inspection, documentation, and day-to-day shop activities.

A Day In The Life
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for prototype and production components.

  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation and process discipline.
