Hubbell Incorporated in Alabama seeks a CNC Operator to run CNC mill and lathe machines according to engineering drawings. You will monitor performance, perform inspections and ensure safe, efficient production.

Responsibilities include set-up, program troubleshooting, tool setup, and quality checks using gauges. Reading blueprints and writing basic codes, you will support continuous improvement while complying with safety and quality policies.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 3+ years CNC experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
  • Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic and metric conversions.
  • Ability to read and use inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Must lift up to 35 lbs, stand/bend/reach for periods of time.
  • Must follow all shop and safety rules.
  • Must be a motivated team player with little supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime and 3rd shift.
  • Skills assessment will be required.

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role monitors machine performance, performs routine inspections, and ensures safe and efficient production.

  • Program, set-up & run CNC mill/lath machines.
  • Troubleshoot programs, make corrections and give feedback to Manufacture Engineers.
  • Properly set up and use cutting tools and fixtures
  • Using gauges and measuring instruments to ensure proper quality.
  • Understand, interpret and write basic codes/programs as needed.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance on machines such as cleaning metal chips out of CNC machines.
  • Check daily liquid levels of machine
  • Follow inspection and status reports
  • Comply with quality policies, specifications and work instructions
  • Train other personnel as needed
  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor and/or management.
