Job Description

Summary

Prepares non-standard computer numerical control (CNC) programs for various CNC machines, including operation in three axes simultaneously, using specialized software for modeling components and programming CNC machines.

Essential Duties:

  1. Performs CNC programming for production equipment, translating product design criteria into machine requirements.
  2. Develops or revises complex non-standard CNC routines for full utilization of CNC lathes, mills, or electrical discharge machines, including three-axis machining.
  3. Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of CNC control parameters, machine functions, mathematical principles for three axes, and programming techniques across various CNC machines, including software loading.
  4. Plans machining sequences, cycles, tooling, and optimal machining conditions.
  5. Creates or revises CNC programs for efficient operations, including three-axis machining.
  6. Reviews tooling designs to simplify methods, reduce costs, and incorporate new materials.
  7. Prepares shop process manuals and oversees process validation for new programs.
  8. Communicates effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and external partners.
  9. Trains operators on new equipment and programs.
  10. Assists in designing jigs, fixtures, and special equipment.
  11. Develops and inputs CNC turning programs, calculates machining parameters, and prepares setup instructions.
  12. Recommends improvements in programming routines and reviews outputs for errors before shop release.
  13. Coordinates with other departments for efficient CNC machining and troubleshooting.
  14. Operates CAD/CAM systems and third-party software to simulate and optimize machine operations.
  15. Supports ERP data input and system requirements.

Education/Experience:

One-year college or technical school certificate, or eight years related experience, or equivalent.

Language Skills:

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization, interpret instructions in various formats.

Computer Skills:

Compensation ranges from $30.75 to $46.25 USD hourly, with participation in bonus, PTO, holidays, insurance, and 401(k). The role involves access to controlled information under U.S. export laws; applicants must be U.S. Persons or authorized under specific licenses.
