Kelly Services in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop programs and manufacturing instructions for precision parts. The role involves 3-axis or higher CAM programming, simulation, and on-time production handoffs in a prototype and low-volume environment.

You will read engineering drawings, select tooling and speeds, and support initial setups and first-piece approvals while collaborating with Quality on inspection processes. ISO and safety procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4 years of CNC programming experience preferred.
• Mastercam experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply algebra/trigonometry.
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, and time-management skills.
• Independent work capability; lift up to 35 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create medium- to high-complexity CNC programs using CAM software.
• Simulate programs before posting code to prevent collisions and reduce cycle time.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and sequences from drawings.
• Support initial setups, prove-outs, and first-piece approvals.
• Troubleshoot and revise programs to improve quality and productivity.
• Develop setup instructions and tooling lists for the shop.
• Collaborate with Quality on CMM and inspection processes.
• Recommend process/equipment changes to improve manufacturability.
• Maintain records and follow ISO quality and shop safety procedures.
