Job summary

Precision Signs is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to lead programming and operation of CNC equipment, including HAAS VMCs, Waterjets, and 3-axis Gantry machines. You will craft G-code, develop toolpaths, and optimize processes to deliver high-quality custom parts.

You will collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to ensure precise parts, efficient workflows, and robust fixturing. A strong engineering/ CNC background and a passion for precision are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience programming and operating CNC VMCs.
• Strong knowledge of G-code, HAAS experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for creating/modifying machining programs.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, precise parts.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment including VMCs, Waterjets, and Gantry systems.
• Develop and modify 3D models and toolpaths to optimize machining processes.
• Write and optimize G-code for accurate, efficient production.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve throughput.
• Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure part conformity and fixturing.

What You'll Do

• Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment, including Vertical Milling Center, Waterjet systems, and 3-axis Gantry machines
• Develop, prototype, and modify 3D models and toolpaths to optimize machining processes
• Write, adjust, and optimize G-code to ensure smooth and precise machining
• Troubleshoot machining errors, programming challenges, and equipment issues to improve efficiency
• Design and fabricate custom fixtures to ensure material stability during machining
• Collaborate with the production, design, and quality teams to align on project goals; Inspect and test parts to meet strict quality standards

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience programming and operating CNC VMCs , with a deep understanding of G-code (HAAS experience preferred)
• Certification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Programming, or a related field
• Experience with 3-axis Gantry machines like Waterjets and Techno routers
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM (Autodesk Inventor, Aspire/Carve) software for creating and modifying machining programs
• Attention to detail and a passion for high-quality custom work
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to operate manual machines (e.g., Bridgeport) is a plus
