Job summary

Topeka Foundry & Iron Works is seeking a CNC Programmer to read blueprints, develop machine programs, and support automation improvements across multiple facilities. This role requires hands-on use of Mastercam/Vericut and close collaboration with production teams to meet tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years CNC machining experience, a programming background, and a solid grasp of measurement devices to ensure quality.

Qualifications

  • 2 years CNC programming experience required; 5 years preferred.
  • CNC Programmer certification or engineering/math/CS degree preferred.
  • 4 years CNC Machining experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of calibrated measurement devices required.
  • Proficient in Mastercam/Vericut or similar programs required.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Create program instructions for machine and tooling shop using Mastercam/Vericut or similar programs.
  • Work with team to create efficiencies, improve automation, and increase machining flexibility.
  • Follow specific standards and reach tight tolerances using tooling knowledge.

Position Description
  • This position is located in the following cities: Topeka, KS, Manhattan, KS, Overland Park, KS, Dallas, TX & Denver, CO
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Work with team to create efficiencies, improve automation, and increase machining flexibility
  • Create program instructions for machine and tooling shop utilizing Mastercam/Vericut or similar programs
  • Use knowledge of tooling, machinery, and attention to detail to follow specific standards and reach tight tolerances
Position Requirements
  • 2 years in CNC programming experience required. 5 years is preferred
  • CNC Programmer vocational certification, or degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or similar field preferred
  • 4 years CNC Machining experience required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of using calibrated measurement devices required
  • Proficient in Mastercam/Vericut or similar programs required
  • Knowledge of tooling machinery, and manufacturing applications
  • Motivation to learn and succeed required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer and pre-employment contingencies
