Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role for a manufacturing company.
  • Basic knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High Purity Plastics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a safe manner.
  • Produce NC programs from CAM software.
  • Responsible for programming, setting up, machining short‑run prototype and production parts assigned to them.
  • Creates and maintains department budget including preparing justifications.
  • Complete machine setups and make required adjustments to equipment to maintain compliance with quality standards.
  • Works with the Materials department to maintain acceptable inventory levels.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, chip evacuation, depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Coordinates production activities of other departments as needed.
  • Responsible for selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates according to machine capabilities and work holding
  • Supports manufacturing effort to achieve goals for superior quality, lead‑time, labor efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to called specifications within the required
  • Maintains accurate and timely data for production.
  • Communicate all defects and scrap.
  • Works closely with Engineering and Sales to meet customer needs.
  • Monitors product standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Reviews production schedules to determine product data, types, and quantities.
  • Exploits knowledge of production processes and methods, machines, and equipment capabilities to establish effective and efficient sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Supports management as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Creates and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out daily/weekly preventative maintenance

FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Production Manager, this position coordinates and leads all aspects of the company’s Machining/Cutting area. The individual establishes strategic plans, policies, and procedures at all levels to ensure that the manufacturing department will meet or exceed internal and external customers’ needs and expectations. The CNC Programmer Machinist is self-motivated and able to accomplish a high level of work without supervision to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating 3‑5 axis CNC mills, CNC routers, and CNC lathes. Expected to handle all aspects of machining from start to finish, including deburring and detail work. Must maintain quality and safety standards.
