Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to program, operate and optimize CNC equipment. You will read blueprints, set up tools, verify tolerances, and ensure output meets specifications. The role requires strong math, CAD/CAM understanding, and daily equipment maintenance.

The position emphasizes toolpathing proficiency, precision measurement, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Toolpathing knowledge is required.
• Experience operating CNC machines and using precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and documents.
• Basic programming with understanding of CAD/CAM concepts.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.
• Knowledge of VCarve/AlphaCam is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform cutting, drilling, milling tasks.
• Read blueprints and drawings to understand specifications and tolerances.
• Translate instructions into machine commands (programming, tool paths).
• Load raw materials and parts onto machines and run test cycles.
• Set machines to complete full cycles and fabricate parts.
• Supervise operations and adjust processes to improve results.
• Inspect finished products and verify conformance to requirements.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks on machinery.
• Read drawings and follow project requirements; ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain cut files for reuse and manage cutting bit inventory.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, milling, etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function (e.g., programming, tool pathing, etc.)
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate parts.
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
• Read drawings and sketches to understand project requirements; follow instructions.
• Comply with all safety guidelines
• Help to establish and maintain cut files that can be re-used
• Maintain inventory of cutting bits

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE TOOLPATHING KNOWLEDGE
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• Knowledge of VCarve/AlphaCam a plus
