Job description

We have a new opportunity to join our Pattern Shop team as a CNC Programmer.

As a CNC Programmer, you will be essential in delivering high-precision machined components for our F1 operations. Your role will involve producing right-first-time tooling, patterns, moulds, and composite components to the highest standards. Working in a high-performance environment, you’ll need to bring energy, expertise, and a proactive approach to your work.

You will be responsible for:

1. Offline programming using Openmind HyperMill for 5-axis machining of patterns, moulds, jigs, and Rohacell components.
2. Programming a variety of moulded composite parts and pre-cured carbon fibre inserts.
3. Maintaining and developing automation, macros, and databases within HyperMill.
4. Ensuring optimal fixturing, tooling, and CNC software utilization to maximize performance.
5. Supporting process improvement and integrating new machines and equipment.
6. Communicating with colleagues and cross-functional teams to align machining with build and design requirements.
7. Working under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
8. Promoting health and safety, maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

1. Strong experience in CNC programming with Openmind HyperMill (5-axis), preferably in a Pattern Shop or Composite Machining environment.
2. Solid understanding of pattern and tooling processes, including epoxy tooling block patterns, jigs, and moulds.
3. Experience programming Class A composite moulded components (e.g., chassis, gearbox, wings, nose) is highly desirable.
4. Knowledge of Heidenhain or Siemens control systems is advantageous.
5. Familiarity with Vericut and MSP software is beneficial but not essential.
6. High attention to detail and a quality-first, methodical approach.
7. Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
8. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and dependability under pressure.
9. Strong IT skills and a positive, flexible attitude.
10. Willingness to work additional hours as required.

This is a full-time, office-based role at our Silverstone campus, with travel to other locations as needed.
