Job summary

Thyssenkrupp on the production floor seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to turn complex plastic designs into precise parts. You will ensure each program is accurate and ready for run, with safety and reliability in mind.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related CNC programming experience.
  • Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Plastic machining experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create, test, and optimize CNC programs for complex plastic parts using drawings and specs.
  • Modify and enhance existing programs to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze program relationships to avoid negative impacts on other operations.
  • Troubleshoot and improve program performance with machinists and supervisors.
  • Partner with internal teams to implement program updates and enhancements.
  • Resolve technical questions related to program intent, inputs/outputs, and system controls.
  • Develop and maintain tooling and equipment inventory for plastic machining.
  • Ensure programs include tooling lists, process plans, and job aids for safe production.
  • Set up CNC machines, load materials, and run test cycles to meet specs.
  • Support shop floor planning and workflow coordination.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Contribute to quality initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team success.

What You'll Do
  • Create, test, and optimize CNC program code for complex plastic parts using technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Modify and enhance existing programs to improve efficiency and meet evolving production demands
  • Analyze program relationships to ensure changes don't negatively impact other operations
  • Troubleshoot and improve program performance by working closely with machinists and supervisors
  • Partner with internal teams to understand and implement program updates and enhancements
  • Resolve technical questions related to program intent, inputs/outputs, and system controls
  • Develop and maintain tooling and equipment inventory specific to plastic machining
  • Ensure programs include accurate tooling lists, process plans, and job aids for safe and efficient production
  • Set up CNC machines, load raw plastic materials, and run test cycles to ensure parts meet customer specifications
  • Support shop floor planning and workflow coordination
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Contribute to quality initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team success

What You Bring
  • 2+ years of related experience with proven success as a CNC Programmer
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings
  • Solid understanding of CNC programming and machine operations (plastic machining experience is a plus)
  • Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and commitment to precision
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
What Sets You Apart
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC programming
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as COBOL and Prolog
  • Experience with object-oriented languages like Java, C++, or ACTOR
