Job summary

Primus Aerospace is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and lathes in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing cell.

You will interpret complex blueprints with GD&T, collaborate with machinists and engineers, document programs, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of CNC programming experience for mills and/or lathes.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience with multi-axis machining (3-, 4-, and 5-axis).
• Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar) preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and CNC lathes.
• Take full responsibility for CNC programming and process execution for assigned parts and equipment.
• Improve manufacturing processes through tooling recommendations, fixture design, and cycle time optimization.
• Collaborate with machinists, operators, and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and accurate production.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and maintain high standards on repeat production work.
• Ensure all programs and processes meet quality requirements, including GD&T standards.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput.
• Maintain accurate documentation including work instructions and program revisions.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures.

Job Purpose

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs to meet established standards of quality, productivity, and delivery within the assigned work cell.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation

$40.00 – $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
