Job summary

Kaleidoscope Innovation in Lafayette, IN is seeking a skilled engineer to support process validation on new machines and tooling, and to provide CNC programming guidance for new capital equipment. The role requires guiding operators, making minor program adjustments, and documenting changes during initial production.

Candidate should have strong UG NX and Vericut experience, tool knowledge, GD&T grounding, and RCA capabilities to improve Cp/Cpk and overall quality. On-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to resolve early‑stage production issues and optimize machining cycle times.
• Experience providing shop floor support during production ramp‑up, coordinating with operators and supervisors.
• Expertise in CNC program development/modification using UG NX, with program verification in Vericut.
• In‑depth knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, boring bars, and inserts across various machining platforms.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings, tolerancing standards, and GD&T.
• Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to improve Cp/Cpk.

Responsibilities

• Support process validation on new machines and tooling.
• Assist in proving out new programs and resolving issues during initial production runs.
• Provide CNC programming expertise for introduction of new capital equipment and processes.
• Evaluate probing cycles and machining strategies to ensure dimensional conformance by CMM inspections.
• Modify existing programs in UG NX as needed.
• Update and maintain CNC programs and related documentation based on FAI results and ECRs.
• Troubleshoot machining processes and propose technical improvements.

Job Summary

Looking for a candidate capable of supporting process validation on new machines running new programs or tooling. While expert‑level CNC programming skills are not required, the individual should be proficient enough to guide the operator to set up the program, make minor adjustments in the CNC program, and identify and document necessary changes.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Support process validation on new machines running new programs or tooling.
• Assist in proving out new programs and resolving issues during initial production runs.
• Provide CNC programming expertise for the introduction of new capital equipment and machining processes.
• Evaluate probing cycles and machining strategies to ensure dimensional conformance as verified by CMM inspections.
• Minor modification to the existing programs in UG – NX.
• Update and maintain CNC programs and related documentation based on FAI results and engineering change requests.
• Troubleshoot machining processes and provide technical solutions to improve performance and quality.

• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional coordination and technical discussions.
