Job summary

B&B Manufacturing, now part of Solve Industrial Motion Group, is seeking a CNC Programmer to program, set up, and operate CNC machines using FANUC controls to produce precision components meeting engineering specifications and production schedules.

You will read blueprints, select tooling, verify dimensions with micrometers, and contribute to continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and comprehend English language.
• Proficient in general CNC operations and FANUC G and M code programming.
• Knowledgeable in indexable tooling technology.
• Reading and understanding blueprints and machine operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines and program to meet accuracy and production requirements.
• Operate multiple CNC machines, validate measurements, and maintain housekeeping to meet daily production.
• Serve as primary operator for CNC machines, processing and executing department procedures.
• Read machining instructions and blueprints to ensure parts meet drawings.
• Identify and recommend tools/fixtures to meet specs.
• Clamp and secure workpieces to ensure parts run to print.
• Position gaging to verify dimensions and adjust with hand tools.
• Maintain feed rates and spindle speeds for Swiss Mill and workpieces.
• Verify milled parts using micrometers and gauges.
• Apply shop math to ensure consistent part accuracy.
• Machine plastics and nonmetals as required.
• Familiar with Haas-Robo Drill, Tsugami Swiss Mill and similar machines.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines, as well as using FANUC controls. The role focuses on producing precision components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs CNC machine setup and operate as well as programming that meets with B&B Manufacturing Inc.'s requirements in accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness for part production.
• The ability to operate as required on multiple machines, measurement validation, overall equipment operation and housekeeping for area working in as well as assisting in meeting or exceeding daily customer production requirements.
• Being the primary source for operation of CNC machines, processing, and executing all departmental and B&B procedures.
• Reads machining instructions and the interpretation of blueprints to determine efficient running of components to meet engineered drawing requirements.
• Identifies, obtains, or recommends for purchase tools and fixtures needed to meet current specification dimensioning and tolerancing for current projects.
• Clamps workpiece in fixtures or presses or mounts to ensure parts consistently run to print.
• Positions and secures gaging to validate all dimensional requirements and makes necessary minor adjustment using wrenches and other hand tools.
• Maintains set feed rates and rotation speeds of CNC Swiss Mill and workpiece.
• Verifies conformance of milled parts to specifications, using micrometers, and involute checker (if available) or any other standard measurement device that validates the quality of the part being produced.
• Compute necessary dimensions and applying knowledge of shop mathematics to ensure the consistent and repeatable accuracy of the parts being run.
• Machine plastic or other nonmetallic materials as well as the process requirements to meet customer expectations.
• Experienced with custom or production work, or with particular material, product or size, type or trade names of machines such as Haas-Robo Drill, Tsugami Swiss Mill etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Read, write, and comprehend English language.
• Proficient in general CNC operations, FANUC controls to program machine in G and M codes, the expeditious setup of the machines to run parts at high production speeds to meet requirements.
• Knowledgeable in current indexable tooling technology
• Reading and understanding blueprints and machine operation.
• Ability to operate multiple CNC machines.
• Measure and record all required data and dimensions.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that cannot be met.
• Knowledgeable in the use of the following tools: Boring tools, gauges, inspection fixtures.
• Knowledgeable in the use of FANUC controls and G and M code for programming.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry to generate the correct finished dimensions.
