Job summary

Morton Industries Fort Worth LLC seeks a Programmer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, databases, and reports that support manufacturing operations in Fort Worth, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• Three years of computer programming experience preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing ERP software preferred; experience with SyteLine ERP is a plus.
• Working knowledge of programming languages, database concepts, application troubleshooting, and software testing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical software and reporting solutions.

The Programmer develops, maintains, and improves software applications, databases, reports, and system integrations that support Morton Industries’ business and manufacturing operations. This position partners with employees across departments to understand business needs, troubleshoot issues, and create reliable solutions that improve efficiency and data accuracy. The Programmer also supports existing systems and computing infrastructure while protecting company information and minimizing disruptions to operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support business and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with employees and department leaders to understand needs, define requirements, and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
• Update and enhance existing programs to improve functionality, performance, reliability, and usability.
• Troubleshoot application errors, identify root causes, and implement solutions that reduce recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain database queries, reports, and tools that provide accurate and timely business information.
• Support manufacturing ERP applications, including system enhancements, reporting, troubleshooting, and integrations with other business systems.
• Maintain database structures and data connections to support reliable information flow between applications.
• Test new programs and changes before implementation, including validating functionality, data accuracy, and the impact on related systems.
• Document application logic, system configurations, changes, and support procedures to promote consistency and continuity.
• Use appropriate development, version control, and change management practices to maintain organized and reliable code.
• Provide technical support and practical guidance to employees using company applications and reporting tools.
• Assist the IT team with system performance, operating system maintenance, and computing infrastructure support as assigned.
• Follow company security practices, protect confidential information, and promptly report identified vulnerabilities or system risks.
• Communicate project progress, priorities, technical issues, and anticipated completion dates to affected employees and leaders.
• Follow company safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment when entering production areas.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with time spent in manufacturing areas to support employees and systems. While in production areas, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, noise, and other manufacturing conditions. Compliance with safety procedures and required personal protective equipment is expected.
