Job summary

Millennial Tools, Inc. seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for precision components. You will work from engineering drawings, perform setup/prove-out, and coordinate with quality and production teams to ensure parts meet specs.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of CNC programming in a manufacturing setting, strong GD&T knowledge, and hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software and multiple CNC controls.

CNC Programmer

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, modifying, testing, and optimizing CNC programs used to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and established quality requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment and be capable of independently taking a component from drawing or model through programming, setup/prove-out, inspection, and production.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience creating, editing, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC programs.
• Proficiency with G-code and M-code.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software to create CNC programs and toolpaths.
• Experience programming CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
• Ability to independently develop machining processes from engineering drawings, blueprints, and/or CAD models.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, surface-finish requirements, and GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, toolholders, workholding, feeds, speeds, depths of cut, offsets, and machining strategies.
• Ability to determine appropriate tooling, machining sequence, workholding, and setup requirements.
• Experience performing CNC machine setups and program prove-outs.
• Ability to troubleshoot programming, tooling, dimensional, surface-finish, and machining-process problems.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Ability to perform first-piece and in-process inspections and make programming or process corrections when necessary.
• Experience machining tool steels, hardened steels, stainless steel, aluminum, and other precision-machining materials preferred.
• Experience with 3-axis CNC machining required; 4-axis and/or 5-axis experience is highly preferred if applicable to the candidate's previous work.
• Experience with Mastercam or comparable CAD/CAM software preferred.
• Experience with FANUC, HAAS, Mazak, Okuma, or similar CNC controls preferred.
• Experience in precision tooling, medical tooling, tool-and-die, aerospace, mold-making, or similar high-precision manufacturing is a plus.
• Must have strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with machinists, Quality, and Production personnel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work around CNC equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to perform machine setup, tooling, and inspection activities.
• Ability to safely handle tooling, fixtures, materials, and manufactured components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required, with assistance when appropriate.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical training or an Associate Degree in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience required.

Important: CNC machine-operation experience alone does not satisfy the programming-experience requirement. Candidates should have hands-on experience developing and modifying CNC programs.
