Job Description Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to ensure efficient and accurate production of parts. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, programming languages, and machining processes. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Develop and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations.
2. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create accurate machine instructions.
3. Set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality parts.
4. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
5. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
7. Continuously monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance.
8. Document and maintain records of programming activities and machine setups.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years CNC programming experience).
2. Minimum of 3 years Unigraphics NX specific CNC programming experience.
3. Proven experience as a CNC Programmer or similar role.
4. Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).
5. Strong understanding of machining processes and materials.
6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Knowledge of safety protocols and quality control standards.
9. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
10. Relevant certifications or technical training in CNC programming and machining.

Desired Characteristics

1. 4-5 years Unigraphics NX specific CNC programming experience.
2. Use of NX CAD/CAM program to program CNC parts.
3. Use of Vericut for NC files as well as maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets.
4. Maintain knowledge of carbide tools and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life.
5. Design and program generation for the machining of fixture tooling for production of details, as directed by process sheets.
6. Experience with live tooling lathe programming and off-center milling via Y-axis capabilities.
7. Experience with 5-axis milling, both table/table and knuckle/knuckle style, horizontal and vertical.
8. Experience with machine probe routines.
9. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
10. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
11. Established project management skills.
