Sanmina Corporation in Austin, Texas seeks a CNC Programmer to design and optimize contour-math programming for metal parts on automatic machine tools. You will analyze drawings, select tools, and set speeds/feeds within shop capabilities.

You will work with planning, engineering, and customers to resolve drawing issues and improve processes, supporting the floor to reduce downtime and achieve efficient cycles.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC programming for metal parts.
• Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software.
• Understanding of turning, milling, and 5-axis processes.

Responsabilités

• Program new jobs per Planning & Engineering procedure.
• Verify programs with tool path verification to minimize errors.
• Update existing programs to incorporate process improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop Part Methods to shorten lead times.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Customer to resolve drawing issues and manufacturing problems.
• Support manufacturing floor to minimize downtime and optimize cycle times.
• Work with machinists to solve manufacturing problems.
• Diagnose and resolve production-floor issues.

Summary

The CNC Programmer plans numerical control program to control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools: Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates, according to the knowledge of machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities

What You'll Do

• Programming new jobs per Planning & Engineering procedure.
• Verifying programs with tool path verification programs to minimize programming errors.
• Updating existing jobs programs to incorporate process improvements.
• Working with Manufacturing Engineering to develop Part Methods to minimize changes and shorten lead times thru production.
• Working with Engineering & Customer to resolve drawing issues & manufacturing problems.
• Supporting the manufacturing floor to minimize downtime, solve problems, and optimize cycle times.
• Working with machinists to solve manufacturing problems.
• Evaluating and solving problems on the production floor.

What You'll Bring

• High School or Engineering certificate from a college or trade school preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in CNC programming using Mastercam. 5 years of experience is preferred.
• Experience programming turn/mill centers and 5 axis programming is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of machines and equipment required to fabricate parts from simple to complex..
• Computer skills including CAD/CAM knowledge and experience.
• Ability to produce Customer macro programming as required.
