Job description

Position Summary: In this position, you will be responsible for operating assigned machining equipment to support the manufacturing needs of the company. This includes performing preventative maintenance and machine changeovers. 2nd shift hours are M-F, 3 pm to 11:30 pm, with overtime as needed.

  1. Perform machining by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  2. Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.
  3. Maintain specifications by observing and taking measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; adjust controls; sharpen and replace worn tools; adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  4. Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  5. Maintain shift continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  6. Support organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
  7. Support a safety culture by following all safety rules, including reporting incidents and near misses.
Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Technical Skills

Associate's degree (A.A.) preferred.

Proficiency with CNC controls and manually operated milling equipment.

Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including safety, use, and repair.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Ability to use measuring equipment and operate machinery.

1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
