CNC Production Manager

Eagle Technologies, LLC (Newport News, Va) is seeking a qualified CNC Production Manager for leading edge aerospace projects. Eagle Technologies manufactures helicopter rotor system and air-frame components for the aerospace industry, with a niche in rotor blade and prop blade development. Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 annually

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working in close collaboration with Operations Manager, supervise machinists and assign duties as necessary.
  • Must be capable to set-up, program, operate and maintain company machine tools, including multi-axis CNC mills and Lathes.
  • Follow operating procedures, engineering instructions, and other recognized methods of instructions. Advise management on procedural effectiveness and suggest appropriate improvements on a continuous basis
  • Work with machinists, to ensure they have what is needed to succeed on a continuous basis. Advise upper management accordingly.
  • Carefully plan and prepare using blueprints or written specifications to calculate operations.
  • Work directly with CNC Programming team to Plan and Document the best sequence of operations to achieve budget and schedule targets.
  • Organize and prepare production schedules
  • Set daily, weekly, monthly objectives for team
  • Monitor production output and ensure it meets company standards
  • Understand, administer, and enforce all safety and compliance procedures to employees
  • Oversee and coach team members and train new employees
  • Other activities as may be directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experienced and skilled in working within a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Expert Knowledge of shop practices required.
  • Experience with Mastercam strongly preferred. Knowledge & understanding of CNC software tools and machine code (G code) is required.
  • Computer skills (especially Microsoft Office)
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong Communication skills and ability to motivate others
  • Strong problem-solving ability and independent decision making skills

Credentials and Experience

  • 10 years experience as a CNC machinist, preferably in a job-shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • CNC machining and programming experience preferred. Mastercam software experience strongly preferred.
  • Will work on government contracts.
  • HS degree or equivalent required.
  • Post high school degree or apprentice program completion preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
