Location: Forest Park, IL | Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Overview

An established manufacturer is seeking a CNC Process Engineer to plan, design, and develop CNC manufacturing processes for current and future component and tooling production. This role is central to ensuring cost-effective, high-quality production that meets approved specifications.

What you'll do

• Design processes and equipment for manufacturing products or services that are cost-effective at approved quality levels and within quoted specifications
• Implement process designs, create prototypes, test them, and make necessary modifications
• Assess safety requirements and integrate them into manufacturing processes
• Collaborate closely with other professionals on development and research projects
• Integrate new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes
• Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay current on developments in the field
• Develop and conduct training programs on safe equipment operation, demonstrating skills to trainees including team members and customers
• Negotiate price, terms, and conditions with outside suppliers to meet project needs
• Develop models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications and recommend improved procedures
• Provide detailed documentation including tool and fixture drawings, setup definitions, and operational procedures

Required qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related science field
• Solid foundation in engineering concepts
• Knowledge of the relevant product, services, and industry
• Familiarity with OSHA and EPA principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Project management, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Original thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness in meeting challenges

Preferred qualifications

• Professional Engineer Licence (P.Eng), Certified Professional Engineer (PE), Six Sigma qualifications, or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus
• Proficient with AutoCad or similar programs
