Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. in Wisconsin is seeking a versatile associate to perform safety checks, operate cranes and air/plasma tools, and ensure proper documentation.

The role requires basic computer skills, reading and math, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Onsite training and strong commitment to safety are provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks at start of shift and throughout shift.
• Use air/plasma properly.
• Operate pneumatic tools as required.
• Complete paperwork for burning processes.
• Mark material with job numbers and IDs.
• Position/secure work pieces with hoists or cranes.
• Replace fuel, oxygen cylinders as needed.
• Maintain burning hardware and consumables.
• Examine pieces for defects and verify conformance with specs.
• Monitor equipment to ensure product quality.
• Review blueprints or instructions for methods.
• Select raw materials from stock.
• Handle materials with cranes/hoists/forklifts; complete safety training.

Responsibilities

Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift this includes by not limited to all cranes and tools and complete the necessary documentation. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.

• The proper use of air/plasma.
• Operation of all applicable pneumatic tools as required.
• Responsible for completing all relevant paperwork as needed for burning processes.
• Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and or other identifying marks as required.
• Position and secure work pieces using hoists or cranes.
• Responsible for the replacement of fuel, oxygen cylinders where applicable.
• Upkeep of all burning hardware and replacement of consumables as needed.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.
• Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods.
• Responsible for the selection of raw materials from indoor stock and yard stock.
• Material handling – operation of cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed. Successfully complete any training/safety program relating to the operation of this equipment.

Education and Certifications

• Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
• Must have a basic understanding of computers.
• Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Successfully complete all training and safety programs for the following:
  • Plasma burning table.
  • Head Burner
  • Pneumatic tools
• Be able to accurately use tape measures, levels, scales, caliper, and micrometer.

Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
