Job summary

Red Dot LLC in Mineola, TX is looking for a Steel Plasma / Laser Cutting Table Operator to safely operate CNC plasma and laser cutting equipment and produce steel parts from approved files and drawings.

You will set up the cutting table, load material, verify material type and thickness, monitor cutting performance, and perform quality checks on finished parts. Experience with CNC cutting equipment is preferred; follow safety policies and wear PPE.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC plasma or laser cutting equipment.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings and dimensions.
• Ability to use a tape measure and basic measuring tools accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting basic machine issues.
• Ability to follow written and electronic cutting instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC plasma and/or laser cutting tables to cut structural steel components.
• Review cutting files, shop drawings, nesting layouts, and production requirements before starting a job.
• Verify material type, thickness, size, grade, and quantity before loading the cutting table.
• Set up the cutting table and verify proper machine settings before production.
• Monitor the cutting process to ensure consistent cut quality and machine performance.
• Identify issues such as slag, poor cut quality, or machine alarms and adjust settings as needed.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of completed parts and verify identification and material traceability.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness, operate overhead cranes/forklifts as required.
