Job summary

Crowder Construction Co in the United States is seeking a Machinery Operator to set up and run CNC plasma cutting and fabrication equipment on our heavy civil projects.

You will load materials, program SigmaNEST, inspect quality, and maintain equipment, with opportunities to travel to multi-state projects. We value safety, teamwork, and precision in every cut.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC plasma cutting tables.
• Willing to be a team player with good communication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company safety requirements and PPE.
• Set up and operate the CNC plasma cutting table and auxiliary fabrication machinery.
• Program and optimize cutting paths using SigmaNEST.
• Load and unload materials with forklifts/overhead cranes; perform maintenance and safety inspections.
• Assist Fabricator/Team Leader with duties in fabrication area.

REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be:

• 18 years of Age
• Able to Pass a Drug Test
• Legally Eligible to Work in the US
• Additional Requirements for Craftworkers:
  • Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required)
  • Must provide own hand tools (excluding power tools)
  • May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities)

Primary function of a Machinery Operator

Duties:

• Adhere to all Company Safety Requirements/Procedures (e.g. constant use of personal protective equipment, PPE)
• Set up and operate the CNC plasma cutting table, as well as additional fabrication machinery as needed
• Program and optimize cutting paths using SigmaNEST software
• Load and unload materials using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the plasma cutting equipment
• Control and adjust machine settings
• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Perform routine Safety Inspections of machinery and company vehicles
• Perform routine Preventive Maintenance on machinery and company vehicles
• Assist Fabricator/Team Leader with any duties in the fabrication area

Additional Responsibilities for Machine Operators who may be assigned to delivery vehicles including semi-trucks/trailers.

• Load / Unload trailers and or delivery trucks (e.g. Forklift & Overhead Cranes).
• Operate company vehicles including but not limited to pickup trucks and semi-trucks some of which may require state CDL license.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Adhere to all Company Safety Requirements/Procedures (e.g. constant use of personal protective equipment, PPE)
• Willing to be a Team Player
• Working knowledge of machinery and measurement tools
• Understanding of Safety & Shop Procedures
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC plasma cutting tables
• Experience with SigmaNEST software for programing and nesting
• Familiarity with other CAD/CAM software is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and precision in cutting operations
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including effective communication and teamwork
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
