Job summary

CMI Group in Tempe, AZ is seeking CNC Operators for the Night Shift to join a highly automated aerospace/machining environment. The role requires operating CNC machines, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

Night shift offers a 20% pay differential and requires US work eligibility. Responsibilities include loading parts, running programs, conducting in-process inspections, and maintaining traceability to job numbers.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and daily checks.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, tolerances, and BP/blueprints.
• Familiarity with basic CNC programming concepts and tool offsets.
• Knowledge of tool installation and replacement procedures.
• Ability to complete paperwork and maintain traceability to job numbers.

Responsibilities

• Load material into CNC machines and run programs.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleanliness checks.
• Conduct in-process inspection of parts to verify dimensions.
• Make minor program changes, particularly tool offsets.
• Replace worn or damaged tools and update setup documentation.
• Sign-off paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Traveler).
• Maintain proper handling and identification of parts for traceability.

CNC Operators needed in TEMPE for Night Shift!

Aerospace & Defense manufacturing

Location: 1515 W 17th St, Tempe, AZ 85281

Shift: Night shift* (Night Shift positions include 20% pay differential)

Monday - Thursday 2:15pm - 12:45am

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.

CNC OPERATOR / MACHINIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Loading material / parts into machine and running program.
• Daily maintenance on machine (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc).
• In-process inspection of parts.
• Minor program changes, mainly tool offsets.
• Replacement of worn or damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc).
• Sign-off of paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Inspection Traveler)
• Proper handling of parts.
• Proper identification of parts / parts containers to maintain traceability to job number & split lot.

EXPERIENCE / TRAINING REQUIRED:

• Machine operation.
• Machine maintenance requirements.
• Reading and understanding B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and any other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards.
• Use of basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify dimensions of product.
• Basic knowledge of CNC code.
• Installation and removal of perishable tooling.
• Company specific handling requirements.
• Company specific product identification requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
• Must be at least 18 years old and Authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand majority of the shift
