Job summary

A leading company in the racing equipment sector is seeking an experienced Machinist to manage machining operations, coordinate production tasks, and ensure high-quality outputs. The role involves training operators, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety standards in a dynamic team environment. Candidates should possess significant hands-on machining experience, particularly with advanced machining centers and relevant software tools.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on operation experience with mills, lathes, drills, and machining centers.
• Prefer prior exposure to Surf Cam and/or Solids Works software packages.
• Experience with 4 or 5-axis VMC and/or HMC.

Responsibilities

• Manage machining supplies and ensure efficient machining.
• Provide training to machine operators and ensure safety procedures.
• Perform maintenance on machines and analyze DXE activities as required.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage inventories of cutting tools and machining supplies. Order items as needed.

Coordinate the production machining to complete DXE work orders.

Balance work activities within equipment capacities and available manpower. Identify resource constraints.

Develop machine set-ups for products as needed to ensure efficient machining and the quality of the parts machined.

Provide training to machine operators.

Ensure that safety procedures are followed in all areas of the machining area.

Ensure that all machines are properly maintained and that the preventive maintenance procedures are followed.

Provide technical and administrative support to all DXE departments.

Perform analysis of DXE activities, as required.

Ensure product is of high quality to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Run production when operators are off and or at lunch.

Education and/or Experience:

High school graduate plus "G" code machine control language training or equivalent experience required. Prefer prior exposure to Surf Cam and/or Solids Works software packages. Minimum experience of 5 years machining experience in a production environment. Must have:

Hands-on operation experience with mills, lathes, drills, and vertical or horizontal machining centers.

4 or 5-axis VMC and or HMC experience.

Fanuc Pro 3 or Pro 5 controller experience.

Experience with measuring and gauging equipment.
