Job summary

Reliable Safety and Flow Corporation is seeking a CNC Operator Level 3 for the 2nd shift at the Columbia, PA plant. You will operate mills and lathes, set up equipment per blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications through careful measurement and tool management.

The role requires proficiency with M and G codes, tool changes, and collaboration with peers and supervision to maintain quality, safety, and production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform CNC Level 1 & 2 requirements.
  • Operate all CNC Equipment (mills/lathes).
  • Set-up and operate equipment per MO requirements using blueprints, plans, materials, specs.
  • Change tool inserts to maintain part specifications and monitor wear.
  • Good working knowledge of M & G Codes.
  • Train to enter work orders into the Maintenance system.
  • Configure CNC by entering instructions, zero/reference points, tool registers and offsets.
  • Load machines with work pieces and verify settings by measurements.
  • Maintain specifications by observing operations, taking measurements and troubleshooting.
  • Offer improvement opportunities to meet goals.
  • Meet production goals in cycle time, quantity and quality.
  • Collaborate with higher level CNC associates on new products.
  • Guide lower CNC levels on advanced tasks.
  • Coordinate with supervision to keep equipment safe and running to meet schedule.
  • Perform basic service checks per procedures (coolant/oil as required).

Compensation: $36.93 / hour

Description

The following is a list of general responsibilities and skills necessary to perform the duties of the CNC Level 3 classification (labor grade 9).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to perform CNC Level 1 & 2 requirements
  • Operate all CNC Equipment (mills/lathes)
  • Set-up and operate equipment per MO requirements using the following; blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces.
  • Changes tool inserts as required to maintain part specifications and monitor tool usage and wear.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of M & G Codes
  • Ability to be trained to enter work orders into the Maintenance system.
  • Configures CNC by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets and prove part programs.
  • Loads machine with work pieces and verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; editing programs; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by offering improvement opportunities.
  • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
  • Works with higher level CNC associates to troubleshoot, set-up and machine new products
  • Works with lower CNC levels to guide and coach them on higher skilled tasks.
  • Works with supervision and leads to assure the equipment is safe, tooling on-hand and assisting in keeping the equipment in operation to meet schedule requirements
  • Perform basic service checks per documented procedures(check and add coolant and oils as required)
