Job Title: CNC Set-Up/Operator Level III

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8-hour morning shifts | 40 hours/week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Work Environment: In-person, fast-paced, and mechanically intensive.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Set-Up/Operator Level III to join our manufacturing team. This role plays a critical part in setting up new jobs on CNC machines using existing programs and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve tooling, fixtures, and job set-ups. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating CNC lathes and machining centers and will be instrumental in the development and execution of prototype and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes and machining centers) for new and existing jobs.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to develop and fabricate engineering prototypes to meet customer demands.
  • Design and fabricate production tooling, fixtures, and gauges to support manufacturing operations.
  • Perform first-time production setups and validate prototype manufacturing processes.
  • Review blueprints and engineering specifications to determine optimal production methods.
  • Requisition necessary materials for prototype development.
  • Inspect manufactured components to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing job setups, CNC programs, and tooling methods.
  • Assist in training team members on company procedures, setups, and equipment use.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve work-related issues on the shop floor.
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and machining centers.
  • Strong understanding of machine shop operations and CNC programming (CAD/CAM experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CMM reports.
  • Ability to recommend and implement setup and tooling improvements.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Effective communicator with solid problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, use hands, and reach with arms frequently.
  • Occasionally required to sit and walk.
  • Must frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and a loud manufacturing environment.
