Job summary

Burke Porter, an Ascential Technologies Brand, is seeking a CNC Operator I in Michigan. You will operate mills and/or lathes by following work orders and engineering blueprints, set tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches, and verify first‑run parts.

Responsibilities include GD&T, measuring positions, completing quality checks, maintaining logs, and adhering to safety procedures to ensure parts meet customer and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Three years’ experience as a CNC Operator I
• Operates mills and/or lathes by following work orders, engineering plans (blueprints), including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches
• Calculates requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; (GD&T)
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; proving out part programs
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting offsets; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintains equipment by completing assigned preventive maintenance; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling maintenance for repairs and/or assistance
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Completes production and quality logs as assigned
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests
• Follows quality standards to ensure parts meet customer and company standards
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Other responsibilities may be added or assumed based on necessity
