The Opportunity:

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring multiple CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role requires interpreting work instructions, executing and adjusting CNC programs, and ensuring all parts meet strict quality standards. Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to safety are essential for success in this position.

Functional/Technical Competencies
  • Attention to Detail - Ensures accuracy in every stage of the machining process by closely monitoring machine performance, measurements, and finished products. Read measuring tools. Detects and corrects errors early to maintain high production quality.
  • Quality Orientation - Maintains a strong commitment to producing high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. Follows quality assurance procedures and upholds company standards throughout production.
  • Problem Solving - Quickly identifies operational or mechanical issues and applies logical, hands-on solutions to minimize downtime. Continuously seeks ways to improve efficiency and precision in machining operations.
  • Safety Awareness - Prioritizes a safe work environment by adhering to company and OSHA safety protocols. Identifies and mitigates potential hazards while maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
  • Time and Production Management - Efficiently manages machine setups, cycle times, and production schedules to meet daily output goals. Balances speed and precision to ensure timely, high-quality results.
  • Communication and Teamwork - Collaborates effectively with engineers, programmers, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow and accurate project execution. Communicates clearly about issues, improvements, or production updates.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset - Actively participates in process improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to reduce waste and improve productivity. Embraces training and technology updates to strengthen technical skills.
What You’ll Do:
  • Efficiently operate up to four CNC machines simultaneously, ensuring consistent production flow and adherence to established cycle times and quality standards.
  • Set up and operate Cnc Routers, select and load appropriate material. Monitor machine performance and production run to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Responsible for setting up and operating CNC Routers, including material selection and loading. Monitor machine performance and production to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Use hilo to pick materials out of the warehouse.
  • Prepare and set up CNC machines for each job.
  • Load, edit, and execute CNC programs as required.
  • Read and interpret written procedures to ensure that all machining operations meet part specifications and production requirements.
  • Read and interpret tape measure and calipers. Verify part dimensions match print tolerances.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to maintain quality compliance.
