We are expanding our manufacturing operations and are opening a second shift, Monday to Thursday with four (4) 10-hour days.

We have three openings for a CNC & Robotic Milling Centre Operator.

What you Will Do:

You will hold a critical role within the production team, ensuring the manufacturing process runs smoothly and produces completed product to specifications and quality standards. You are responsible for operating and maintaining the Robotic Milling Centre (RMC) and computer numerical control (CNC) machines used at our manufacturing facility to produce precise and complex components, as well as ensuring the CNC machines are set up correctly, programmed accurately, and operated safely and efficiently.

You will primarily work indoors, shielded from the outdoor elements most of the day.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday

12 hours per day

Education & Qualifications:

  • High school graduation, an asset
Nice to Haves, but can be certified on the job:
  • Class I forklift license
  • Level 1 or 2 Occupational First Aid certification
  • OVHD Crane operator certification & rigging experience.
  • WHIMS
Skills & Experience, Required:
  • 3+ years of experience working as an operator for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinery, preferably with wood.
  • Understanding of machine operations safety.
  • Able to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical concepts
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues that may arise during operation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques.
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Willingness to practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions.
  • Able to follow instructions and complete work tasks on schedule with clear timelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully both internally and externally.
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience with manual & digitally assisted mass timber construction tasks
  • Experience with prefabrication of mass timber panels and modules, including finishing.
  • Overhead Crane and Rigging Training
  • ABB industrial robot or RobotStudio
The Role & Responsibilities - RMC/CNC Operator:
  • Setting up and configuring the CNC machine, including loading and unloading raw materials and tools.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and other specifications to determine the correct settings and programming for the CNC machine.
  • Monitoring the CNC machine's performance and adjusting settings as needed to ensure that the finished product meets the desired specifications.
  • Verifying conformance to part specifications using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on the CNC machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Communicate with logistics department to ensure raw material is correct and available on time for milling operations
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct QC on machine cut parts to ensure accuracy to the specified drawings.
  • Ensure all machines you have operated on are shut down by the end of the production day.
  • Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Communicate with other members of the manufacturing team, to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve quality, and reduce waste.
  • Comply with all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with administrative policies and procedures as updated.
  • Contribute to team efforts and complete other duties as requested that align with your abilities and responsibilities.
Important to Mention!
  • Must provide your own CSA-approved 6” safety footwear, required.
  • Proof of ability to remain and work in Canada.
  • Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check.
$29 - $35 an hour
We expect the hourly pay within the range for this position will vary within the range of $29 - $35 per hour.
Subject to change, as your pay will be based on market evaluation and various job-related factors, including your past work experience, relevant education and certifications (journeyman/unticketed) etc.. Benefits offered after 3 months.
