Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced CNC Operator / Machinist for a full-time day-shift opportunity in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a hands-on position in a job shop environment, not a production shop , and requires an experienced machinist who can independently set up, adjust, and operate CNC milling equipment to perform precision machining operations.
The CNC Operator will perform end-to-end machining work, including interpreting engineering drawings, determining machining sequences, selecting appropriate tooling and materials, setting up machines, monitoring feeds and speeds, making in-process adjustments, and verifying finished parts against required dimensions and tolerances.
The ideal candidate brings significant hands-on CNC machining experience and a strong understanding of the setup and operation of CNC milling centers. Experience with Haas CNC Milling Centers is particularly valuable for this position.
This role requires a self-directed machinist who can work with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the shop team.
Direct hands-on Haas CNC milling experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with directly comparable CNC milling-center experience may warrant consideration when they demonstrate advanced setup, independent operation, tooling, feeds/speeds, blueprint interpretation, program-editing, and inspection capabilities.
No formal college degree is required. Hands-on machining experience is the primary qualification. Technical certificates, apprenticeships, shop training, and equivalent on-the-job experience are acceptable.
This is not a basic machine-operator or production-line position. Candidates must be experienced machinists capable of independently setting up CNC milling equipment and taking a job from blueprint interpretation through machining and dimensional inspection.
