Job summary

Touchstone Advanced Composites, a subsidiary of Core Natural Resources, seeks a CNC Machinist in Triadelphia, WV. The candidate will operate CNC tools, set up tools and offsets, and inspect finished parts to meet tolerances.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints and specifications, selecting fixtures and tools, and coordinating with teams to resolve machining or quality issues. Overtime is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to operate precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators).
• Minimum 2+ years in setup of 5-axis machines (Haas or Fanuc preferred).
• Working knowledge of tool holders, fixtures, inserts, and related accessories.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and manufacturing instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of CNC machine tools and set up tooling and offsets.
• Load parts, prove out programs, and conduct initial inspection for tolerances.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials for machining tasks.
• Communicate with management and team members to resolve issues.
• Maintain clean work area and equipment per maintenance procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

This position will be responsible for the operation of a variety of CNC machine tools. This includes setting up and verifying tooling and setting part offsets.

Target Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable in the use and application of precision measuring instruments. This would include calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, inserts, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
• Responsible for loading parts, proving out programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple program edits, and initial inspection of parts to ensure it meets tolerances.
• Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other team members for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to operate a variety of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
• Minimum of two years of experience working on the set-up of 5-axis machines, such as Hass or Fanuc preferred.
• Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used to operate various machines.
• Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as blueprints, safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts.
• Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time management, problem‑prevention, and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Able to identify areas of low efficiency and work to provide improvements.
• Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends as business requires.
