Job summary

Valmont in Columbus, Nebraska is hiring for a manufacturing role focused on operating CNC drilling and related equipment. The team supports production, quality, and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include operating CNC drill lines, inspecting parts for quality, and maintaining machines. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred CNC drill experience in manufacturing. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Read and use tape measures, thread gauges, micrometers, protractors and calipers with accuracy.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain safety at all times.
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions; perform basic math.
• High School Diploma or GED required; CNC drill exp is a plus.
• One year experience operating a CNC drill in manufacturing or fabrication.

• Assist team with departmental tasks, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
• Work under the leader and report to the Shift Supervisor.
• Operate the CNC burn table, drill press and other cutting or burning equipment.
• Inspect all parts produced to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and greased machine and perform daily TPM.
• Operate overhead crane, plate blaster, cutting torch and forklift as needed.
• Wear required PPE and follow facility safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment.

How you will contribute

• Assist team members with other departmental tasks, cleaning, and general equipment maintenance
• Work under the direction of the leader and report directly to the Shift Supervisor
• Operate the CNC burn table, drill press and other cutting or burning equipment and keep the department environment clean and safe
• Inspect all parts produced to ensure quality standards
• Maintain a clean and greased machine and perform daily TPM
• Operate overhead crane, plate blaster, cutting torch and forklift as needed
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment

Required Qualifications

• The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, thread gauges, micrometer, protractor, and dial calipers
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

Highly qualified candidates will also possess

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of previous experience operating a CNC drill
• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• One year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools in a professional environment
• The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
