Job summary

Thorlabs in Kentucky (Northern region) is seeking an on-site CNC Operator to run CNC machines, inspect parts, and support production priorities. The role requires basic CNC skills, reading blueprints, and a strong work ethic.

Overtime and shift differential are available, with a total compensation package reflecting market rates. Hourly pay range: $20.00–$28.00, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNC certification or CNC trade school a major plus
• General understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing
• Strong ownership and work ethic; good written and verbal communication
• Proficient computer skills are a must
• Ability to work well in a group with minimal supervision and maintain quality standards
• Ability to shift between tasks to address changing production priorities

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines per inch and metric drawings
• Inspect machined components for accuracy against drawings
• May operate manual mills and lathes as needed
• Maintain clean, safe work area and perform basic preventive maintenance on CNC machines
• Adhere to company policies and workplace behavior standards
