Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Smithfield, Utah is seeking a CNC Operator for the 2nd shift (3:30pm–11:30pm) in the Paragon Medical Orthopedics unit. You will operate CNC milling/turning machines, follow the schedule, inspect parts, and help maintain ISO compliance in a clean, organized area.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 0–3 years of experience with milling or turning machines. Basic measurement tools and GD&T knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 0-3 years experience operating milling or turning machines.
• Attention to detail, good communication, and ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of GD&T and basic inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines.
• Follow the production schedule.
• Inspect parts using basic measurement tools and in-process inspection instructions.
• Complete the traveler and place with product.
• May be responsible to operate CMM.
• Maintain a well-organized and clean working area.
• Assist in ensuring compliance of ISO policies and procedures.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30pm-11:30pm

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating various milling or turning CNC machines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines.
• Follow the production schedule.
• Inspect parts using basic measurement tools and follow the in-process inspection instructions.
• Complete the traveler and place with product.
• May be responsible to operate CMM.
• Maintain a well-organized and clean working area.
• Assist in ensuring compliance of ISO policies and procedures.
• Understand and follow policies and procedures.

Education:

• High School or GED

Experience:

• 0-3 years - Operating milling or turning machines.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Attention to detail.
• Verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic inspection equipment (mics, calipers, gages, etc.)
• Ability to read blue prints and knowledge of GD&T.
