Job summary

Burke Porter, An Ascential Technologies Company in Three Rivers, MI, is seeking an entry level CNC Operator I. There is no requirement for previous machining experience; knowledge of machining is helpful and teamwork is valued.

You will follow work instructions, operate mills and lathes, load stock, measure first-run parts, and help maintain quality and safety standards. This role emphasizes communication and continuous learning in a fast-changing shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Follows work instructions to maintain repeatability in quality parts.
• Follows Job orders to produce only the amount required.
• Operates mills and lathes by following instructions, including zero and reference points.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards

This is an entry level position. There is no requirement for previous machining experience. However, CNC Operator I should have some knowledge of machining. This persons values should be centered around working in a team atmosphere to encompass a smooth flow across all operations. Good written and oral communications skills are essential.
