Job summary

Cambria is seeking an entry to mid-level CNC Operator for the FabShop's rough cut department in Minnesota. You will operate CNC equipment (Waterjet/Combi-Cut and saw), monitor performance, stage slabs, run quality checks, and help ensure jobs meet specification and timing.

We value a positive attitude and willingness to learn; training will be provided to cover procedures, documentation in Work Logs, and safe material handling. Previous warehouse or fabrication exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of warehouse, manufacturing, fabrication or industrial background preferred.
  • Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machinery (Waterjet/Combi-Cut, saw) to job order specs.
  • Position material using overhead crane or vacuum lift.
  • Verify blueprints match job orders and upload to the machine.
  • Perform pre/post load quality checks.
  • Document work logs and monitor consumables.
  • Cross-train and assist other departments when needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area.

Job Description

This entry to mid-level position is responsible for operating the CNC for the FabShop’s rough cut department. The operator will support daily production by running and monitoring equipment, staging slabs, maintaining consumable levels and ensuring jobs meet quality standards. We’re looking for a person with a great attitude and willingness to learn because we’ll teach you the rest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up, safely operate and monitor CNC machinery (Waterjet/Combi-Cut, saw) to job order specifications
  • Use an overhead crane or vacuum lift to position material on CNC table to prep for initial cuts
  • Validate blueprint drawings match job order and upload job(s) into the machine.
  • Perform pre/post load quality checks on each job run (Ex. Kerf, chips, scratches, breaks and measurements)
  • Perform all required documentation in Work Logs, validate consumable levels (garnet), visual inspection of equipment and preventative maintenance
  • Stage slabs in next department for next area in fabrication
  • Cross-train and assist on multiple types of equipment and in other departments when needed
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management
Qualifications and Skills
  • Detail oriented, organized and meets deadlines
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment
  • Maintain powered equipment certifications
  • Experience properly moving and staging heavy material
  • Consistently documents work and communicates well
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of warehouse, manufacturing, fabrication or industrial background is preferred.
Systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle and Google Workspace preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs or push/pull 100lbs+ constantly depending on the department.
  • Prolonged periods of standing (up to 10hrs) machinery where there's an occasional need to bend, reach, walk, or stoop occasionally.
  • Move material via cart, electrical pallet jack, overhead crane or vacuum lift
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria when tasks/procedures require steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, face shield, cut proof gloves and/or hearing protection
  • Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises
  • Work in a production environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
Compensation

Cambria’s starting hourly range for this position is $20.83 - $22.66. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
