Job summary

Schupan is seeking a CNC Operator for 1st shift in Kalamazoo, MI. You will operate CNC equipment, inspect parts, and maintain quality standards in a team environment.

You will follow ISO procedures, maintain logs, and ensure a safe, clean workplace. Overtime may be required. PTO, 401(k), and health benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC operation and reading blueprints.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and order processing.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines, grinders, mills, and similar equipment in accordance with prints and specifications.
• Produce required quantities of parts within established tolerances.
• Measure finished parts with calipers, micrometer, and height gauge to ensure spec compliance.
• Conduct quality inspections using calipers, tapes, check fixtures, and drop gauges.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic adjustments and maintenance.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Maintain logs of units produced and any rejected pieces.
• Consult with QA to identify and resolve out-of-tolerance issues.
• Follow ISO quality procedures and maintain cleanliness using 5S.

What You Will Achieve

As a CNC Operator at Schupan, you will keep our precision machining operation running accurately and on schedule. You will operate CNC equipment, inspect finished parts, and help maintain the quality standards our customers depend on.

How You Will Do It

• Operate CNC machines, grinders, mills, and similar equipment in accordance with prints and specifications
• Produce required quantities of parts within established tolerances

• Consult with quality assurance to identify and resolve out-of-tolerance issues

• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with MIOSHA regulations

Basic Requirements

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Prior related experience and/or training preferred, with reliable work history
• Knowledge of design techniques and principles for precision technical plans and blueprints (preferred)
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with inventory and order processing systems

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive bending and stooping
• Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts
• Able to work in noisy environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts
